Cookie regulations

This site uses cookies

In compliance with Law 34/2002 of 11 July 2002 on Information Society Services and Electronic Commerce (LSSICE), we inform you that the website Borealis Corporate Finance SL uses cookies.

The LSSICE applies to any kind of file or device that is downloaded onto a user’s terminal equipment to store data that can be updated and retrieved by the entity responsible for its installation. A cookie is one of those widely used files that we will refer to generically as cookies.

Cookies are small text files sent to a browser from a web server to record user activity on a website so that this information can be retrieved later when browsing the different pages connected to the server that installed them.

Cookies usually store information of a technical nature, personal preferences, content personalisation, usage statistics, links to social networks, access to user accounts, etc.

Types of cookies

A classification of cookies according to a number of categories is made below. However, keep in mind that the same cookie may be included in more than one category.

Depending on the entity managing them

  • Own cookies: cookies that are sent to the user’s terminal equipment from a computer or domain managed by the publisher and from which the service requested by the user is provided.
  • Third-party cookies: cookies that are sent to the user’s terminal equipment from a computer or domain that is not managed by the publisher but by another entity that processes data obtained from cookies.

Cookies that are installed from a computer or domain managed by the publisher itself but the information collected through them is managed by a third party cannot be considered as own cookies.

Depending on how long they remain active

Depending on the length of time they remain active in the terminal equipment, we can classify them as:

  • Session cookies: cookies designed to collect and store data while the user accesses web pages. They are usually used to store information that is only relevant for the provision of the service requested by the user once (e.g. a list of products purchased).
  • Persistent cookies: these are a type of cookie in which the data is still stored in the terminal and can be accessed and processed for a period defined by the person responsible for the cookie, which can range from a few minutes to several years.

Depending on their purpose

Depending on the purpose for which the data obtained are processed, they can be identified as:

  • Technical cookies: are those that allow the user the browsing through a site, platform or application and the use of the different options or services that exist, as for example, controlling the traffic and communication of data, identify the session, access parts of restricted access, remembering the elements that make up an order, make the process of purchase of an order, make the application for registration or participation in an event, use elements of safety during the navigation, storing content for broadcast video or sound, or share content through social networks.
  • Customisation cookies: these enable the user to access the service with some predefined general features according to a series of criteria in the user’s terminal, such as the language, the browser type used to access the service, the regional configuration from which the service is accessed, etc.
  • Analytical Cookies: these enable the entity responsible for them to track and analyse the behaviour of the users on the websites to which they are linked. The information collected through this type of cookies is used to measure the performance of websites, applications, or platforms and to create navigation profiles of the users of these websites, applications, and platforms, in order to make improvements based on the analysis of the usage data provided by the service users.
  • Advertising cookies: these enable the management, in the most efficient way possible, of the advertising spaces that, where appropriate, the publisher has included in a website, application, or platform from which the requested service is provided, based on criteria such as the content edited or the frequency with which the ads are displayed.
  • Behavioural Advertising Cookies: these enable the management of whichever advertising spaces the publisher has included in a website, application or platform from which the requested service is provided, in the most efficient way possible. These cookies store information on the behaviour of the users obtained through the continuous observation of their browsing habits, which allows them to develop a specific profile to display advertising based on it.
